Blo-karts.

Windcarting is an extremely popular sport and the beach at Scarista is, possibly, the finest location in the Western Isles to practice.

Blo-karts are very easy to operate with no previous experience of flying kites or sailing required and can be self taught in five minutes which is as long as it takes to erect them from their car boot sized carrier.

Often you will find that you have the whole of Scarista beach to yourself for most of the day.

With a clear run it can be possible to reach speeds of up to 45 m.p.h.

The wide open beaches of Scarista provide a smooth flat surface comparible to that of an airport runway. The windspeed is usually around the 10km/hr which is the minimum required, however, there are times when the speeds are much greater and perfect for a fun packed day.
